How Entries Are Scored

Every entry to the World Real Estate Excellence Awards is scored independently against published criteria specific to its category. Scoring is jury-led — entries are read in full by senior global jurors, scored across multiple weighted dimensions, and aggregated through a published methodology. There are no closed-door decisions, no political favouritism and no sponsor-led overrides.

Each category uses its own weighting framework. Developer categories weight financial performance, project delivery, customer outcomes and partnership credibility. Architecture categories weight design quality, technical resolution, contextual response and embodied-carbon performance. Sustainability categories weight verified environmental performance and credible certification. Broker and agency categories weight verified transaction performance, customer satisfaction and brand authority.

Weightings are published in advance — typically in the resources section of this site, alongside each category's detailed criteria. Entrants planning a submission are strongly encouraged to read the category-specific weightings before drafting their entry.

Universal Scoring Dimensions

Across all categories, the jury scores against four universal dimensions: Excellence (the quality of the work itself), Outcomes (the measurable results achieved), Innovation (the distinctive idea or approach) and Evidence (the strength of supporting documentation).

  • Excellence — Design quality, technical resolution, customer experience, operational performance
  • Outcomes — Financial performance, sales velocity, occupancy, customer satisfaction, sustainability metrics
  • Innovation — Distinctive idea, technical innovation, contextual response, market positioning
  • Evidence — Photography quality, drawings, third-party data, independent press, verified certification

Category-Specific Weightings

Developer categories weight Excellence at 30%, Outcomes at 35%, Innovation at 15% and Evidence at 20%. Architecture categories weight Excellence at 40%, Outcomes at 20%, Innovation at 25% and Evidence at 15%. Sustainability categories weight Outcomes at 40%, Excellence at 25%, Innovation at 20% and Evidence at 15%. Broker and agency categories weight Outcomes at 40%, Excellence at 25%, Innovation at 15% and Evidence at 20%.

Luxury categories include explicit additional weighting on service architecture, brand authority and HNW buyer engagement. Smart-building categories include explicit additional weighting on verified technology integration and operational performance. Sustainable categories include explicit additional weighting on credible third-party certification.

The Jury

The jury includes senior global property developers, master architects, real estate fund executives, urban planners, luxury market analysts, sustainability specialists and academic experts. Jurors are appointed by the jury chair, declare conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from any entry where independence cannot be guaranteed.

The jury chair publishes a yearly methodology note alongside the shortlist announcement, ensuring full transparency on scoring approach. Past methodology notes are archived in the resources section.

How To Win — Practical Guidance

  • Lead with the work's most distinctive idea or quality — not generic positioning.
  • Quantify outcomes — specific numbers reliably outperform descriptive language.
  • Address all four universal scoring dimensions in your entry structure.
  • Submit high-quality visual evidence — photography is paramount.
  • Submit verified third-party data — independent evidence carries significant weight.
  • Read the category-specific weightings before drafting your entry.
  • Submit two weeks before the published deadline.

Shortlisting And Winners Announcement

Shortlists are reviewed by a chair-led panel before announcement. Shortlisted entrants are notified directly ahead of the gala and receive a 'shortlisted' recognition asset for use during the period between shortlist announcement and final winners. Final winners are revealed live at the gala in Dubai, with recognition assets issued shortly afterwards.

The gap between shortlist announcement and final winners is intentional — it preserves the credibility and theatre of the live announcement while ensuring shortlisted entrants receive recognition value during the lead-up.

Submit Your Nomination

Nominations are submitted online via the official entry portal. Detailed resources, sample entries and category-specific criteria are published throughout this site. The awards team can be contacted directly for entry consultation.
